Welcome!
I am a Ross Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University. I work with David Penneys and Micah Chrisman.
I received my PhD in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara in 2025. My advisor was Stephen Bigelow. I received my Mathematics B.S. from UC Davis in 2014 and my Mathematics M.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 2017.
Research:
My research interests lie broadly in quantum algebra, quantum toplogy, operator algebras, and low-dimensional topology. My work connects to several areas of mathematics including tensor categories, knot theory, subfactors, mathematical physics, and representation theory.I particularly like topics related to the following:
- Diagrammatic algebras; skein theories; planar algebras
- Higher categories; 2-categories; fusion categories
- Knots and their invariants; TQFTs; topological quantum computing
- Subfactors and their classification; standard invariants of subfactors
- Quantum symmetry; quantum groups; Hopf algebras
- Skein algebras; skein modules; cluster algebras

Current Activity:
- For Spring 2026, I am teaching Math 1116: Excursions in Mathematics. This course is entirely online.
- I am a Mentee Board Member for the global Operator Algebra Mentor Network. More information on the network can be found here.
